Building the Next Century of Warrior Pride
If you’ve traveled with our teams to other high schools in the region lately, you’ve seen the standard being set. Modern all-weather tracks, high-performance turf, and facilities built to host the best. Our student-athletes at Elko High School show up every day with that same level of championship heart—and it’s time they had a home field that matches their dedication.
This isn’t a knock on Elko. It’s a call to action for a community that knows how to take care of its own.
The Mission: Community-Led Progress
A group of community members who care deeply about Elko High School athletics have come together to form the Elko Athletics Booster Club. We are a brand-new nonprofit that runs independently from the school district but exists for one reason: to make EHS the best it can be for our student-athletes.
Our primary goal is straightforward: We are working to renovate Warrior Field, starting with a new all-weather turf field for football and soccer and a rebuilt track designed to withstand the Nevada elements. This phased plan also includes future goals for updated bleachers, modern lighting, and a scoreboard the entire community can be proud of.
For more than a century, Warrior Field has been part of Elko’s story. When you read through the history, each generation has done its part. But today, Warrior Field has reached a critical turning point.
Why This Matters
This project is about more than just aesthetics; it’s about opportunity. When Elko has a facility that meets state standards, we have the chance to:
Host Major Events: We can become a host city for NIAA Regional and State Championships in football, soccer, and track.
Boost the Local Economy: Championship weekends fill our hotels and restaurants, bringing outside revenue directly into Elko.
Support Our Athletes: It means our families spend less time traveling and more time cheering from our own sidelines.
Community Pride: Elko High School facilities should be the destination, not the detour.
Building for the Next Generation
Even if your child is still in elementary school or youth sports, this project is for them. The work we do today ensures that when they eventually put on that Elko Indian uniform for the first time, they are stepping onto a top-tier field built by a community that believed in them long before they ever took their first snap or lap.
Warrior Field Belongs to All of Elko
Warrior Field is not just an Elko High School facility. It is one of the largest gathering spaces in our community. It is where:
Youth athletes dream of one day wearing the E.
Families gather on Friday nights.
Alumni return home and relive memories.
Local fundraisers bring people together for a cause.
Emergency personnel conduct training exercises.
Special Olympics and youth camps need safe, reliable space.
When the track and field cannot host events, the ripple effects reach far beyond high school sports. Local nonprofits lose the ability to host athletic fundraisers. Community races and training events must relocate or cancel. First responders and law enforcement agencies lose a safe, controlled training environment. Warrior Field should be a hub of activity year-round — not a facility we have to work around. Rebuilding Warrior Field restores that shared space for everyone.
