Elko County Survey
Elko County School District Stakeholders:
The Elko County Commission needs your help. Please answer the survey below and forward this e-mail to everyone you feel the County Commission should hear from.
To give some additional context, the School District previously received approximately $15 million per year and now receives nothing. Per Elko County Commission, they will not be increasing taxes as a result of AB519.
The average age of our schools is 47 years old. We have more than $20 million in urgent mechanical upgrades identified. A new Elementary School for 600 students would cost more than $80 million.
The County Commission can return up to 25 cents, which may be matched by the State. This could generate approximately $10 million per year. If you would like the full 25 cents, or if you feel your choice is not available in the survey, please indicate βNone of the Aboveβ on question 2 and/or contact the County Commission.
Thank you for your time and consideration in helping the Elko County Commission make the right decision for our students and communities.
